It's an Open Lid game, as opposed to a JamJar; your characters remain in their canon worlds and timelines, but can access a magical network to connect to other canon's universes. You, and your castmates if you have them, decide what, if anything, changes for these experiences.

Events called "Infections" are entirely optional but can compel your characters to certain actions or delusions. Once in a while there may be large scale viruses that take you off world for a temporary AU Jamjar such as a zombie apocalypse or a high school AU, but that's fully optional and if you don't want in on it, you can keep playing the normal game.
