Test Drive - October/November

You wake up... in your bed or wherever you went to sleep because your character is exactly where you left them. A revival of the classic LJ/DW game DramaDramaDuck (DDD), D3 is an attempt to capture the spirit of the classic with some adjustments. The name, and the names of many parts of the game, pays homage to the original while allowing it to be something different as I'm not a founder of the original. I just had fun there and thought it sounded fun now.

An Open Lid game, as opposed to a JamJar; your characters remain in their canon worlds and timelines but can access a magical network to connect to other canon's universes. You, with the help of your castmates should you have them, decide how they experience shape your remaining canon, even if it means nothing changes at all.

Welcome to the D3 test drive. Prompts are sparse because this is the game where you make the story. Some optional suggestions are:

A. Hit by an infection

Like it says on the label. Your character has been hit by one of the monthly infections that take place on the network. This particular infection shouldn't alter the personality too much if you're planning to use it as a sample. For more information on infections, read the faq found here.

B. Canon update

Something happen at home you want to share? Or don't want to share, but the network is showing anyway?

C. A call to arms

Trouble is brewing, and you need help? You have worlds full of superheroes to ask for help. That doesn't always mean they can reach you...


That's the down and dirty. Not quite as fancy as you're used to seeing, huh? D3 is a simple game. Or it's not. It's up to you, the player, to make your experience. There will also be a log community so you can do face-to-face meet ups, and anyone can go off-world this time.

To perhaps capture the group game feeling that differentiates D3 from memes, consider noting whether you're open to threadjacks with a subject line like so:

Reserves will open for the first time on October 1st and apps will follow October 7th. After they open, they'll remain open instead of having cycles.

Dude. No. No dancing. You don't just go dancing when you already have a girlfriend.
At least not with somebody who's not your girlfriend. You're allowed to go dancing with your girlfriend.
Isn't dame a really old word they only used in old detective movies?

I don't have a girlfriend, and I don't even know what my friend and Agent C— are but I know they're sweet on each other

It's not just dancing, it's DANCING. Doing dancing stuff with your body. You're doing it to be meeting nice girls.

it's not like he'll be making time with any of them. he's pretty hung up on her.

I think he pissed her off? but he didn't say what, all he's doing right now is just sighing forlornly and staring at his picture.

we're moving out for a thing in the morning (can't talk about it, it's classified), and I just want his last memory of London for the next month or so to be something nice.

Isn't that just a bigger reason they should dance? If I had to go and do a stop secret thing, and I wanted a memory, I'd want it to be with my dame.

Can we just switch to girlfriend? Or crush? Or her name or something? It definitely feels weird. Like I should get an overcoat, but I don't have an overcoat.

So talk to him. Let him know if he goes off on some super secret thing and they're still fighting, he might regret it.
Especially if it's dangerous.
Just be like.
"Dude, you might die tomorrow. Talk to her."

But you know.
Some stuff's less dangerous if it's not top secret.
Then you can get help and not die.
